The Holiday: Gee Edition

The Holiday: Gee Edition

Turn your phone on do-not-disturb and set your emails to circling back in the new year.

We approach the holidays as a time to be present with one another as a family and be in the moment. Today on the #GeeEdit, we’re sharing what we’re looking forward to!

Seasonal Rituals

With the kids off school, it’s the slower mornings I find myself craving again—and the perfect time to get my routines back on track. Believe it or not, when they’re off I actually wake up earlier to fit in my rebounding, podcasts, and walks, and I can’t wait for the energy this season brings.

What We’re Watching & Reading

We’ve started watching a few series on Netflix as a family, and it’s been so much fun. We’ve really made an event out of it—one episode a night with popcorn and blankets. It’s become interactive too, as we look up the characters and music soundtracks together and end up learning so much along the way. Re-learning alongside your kids is pretty amazing… and they teach you more than you expect.

At the Table

We love to entertain at home – and celebrating this Chanukah together has been very special. Miriam, also known to my kids as Bibi, gifted us a candle making set and so each night we prepare our candles which hold such special meaning.

Holiday Beauty Edit

As for beauty, I look forward to layering in winter – my skincare routine has more masks and I love to layer those! I always love a neck cream and body oils everyday!

Seasonal Rituals

I love to get a head start of my vision board for the upcoming year. Leading up to this all year I keep a folder on my phone (and some physical print-outs and magazine tears) of things, visuals, ideas, styles, or language that speak to me. Usually there is some kind of pattern which is really cool, and makes my intention more clear, and it flows naturally.

I love to do this on a Saturday morning in bed, usually while wearing a sheet mask or hair mask, in my pajamas. Giving myself this uninterrupted time helps inspire me and makes it feel like a really special ritual. I might put on a playlist or even do a meditation to get grounded and centered.

I think also doing special family traditions, and unplugging is really important this time of year. It can be easy and casual, and is really just about connection.

Cooking together, doing window shopping or even just grabbing coffee without having to rush somewhere is really a luxury.

Festive Favorites

As for books and movies – I’ll never not watch The Holiday when it comes on, or The Family Stone. I just ordered Unreasonable Hospitality and I can’t wait to dive in and read it.

We’ve just celebrated Hannukah together and I have some holiday parties and Christmas events I’m looking forward to. I’m always cooking so I’m sure I will be making some delicious salads, veggies and any healthy desserts.

Go-To Spots

My go-to spots are Soho House for beach and pool days, and UchiKo in Sunset Harbour for the best Happy Hour in Miami. I love the matcha at Sunshine Coffee on Washington too.

On My Vanity

Any and ALL sheet masks. I like to do a refining mask first, like Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask or Skin Perfecting Mask. After the sheet masks, I’ll Gua Sha with some Gee Beauty Prime Skin Beauty Oil for the ultimate snatched trifecta.

For makeup I love a palette this time of year. I’ll wear a little more makeup, and set it with loose powder and our Multi Mist to get the look to last all through the day and evening. I always finish my lips with a little gloss – December and New Years just call for it!

How I’m Spending the Season

Being together with family in Miami while our businesses are closed for the holidays is such a precious time. It allows me to truly unplug and be present with friends and family.

Julien and I have been doing sauna and cold plunge sessions together, which have been incredibly revitalizing and empowering.

I also love dressing up for work during the holidays, celebrating with family through Chanukah parties and Shabbat dinners, and taking time to reflect on the year before thinking about the next one.

Comfort Watches & Reads

Julien and I love watching Home Alone during the holidays — it’s a classic.

I’ve been inspired by management books like Unreasonable Hospitality and The New One-Minute Manager. I’ll shift into fiction during the holidays, but leading up to them I like to focus on professional development as much as I can.

Entertaining at Home

I recently started making chicken soup, and it’s been the coziest thing to enjoy as the weather gets colder — it makes our home smell amazing and feel so home-y.

When we’re all together in Miami, we have a beautiful family dinner with a grazing board filled with olives, nuts, cornichons, pickled veggies, and caviar. It always feels chic and festive.

Beauty & Wellness Staples

While my skin is oily, I still need to layer hydration during the winter months. I’m currently using two Hyaluronics under my moisturizer — Sturm and MBR Tissue Activator — and taking extra care of my lips with our Sugar Lip Scrub and Rose Lip Mask.

I’m loving Talk To Me lipliner paired with Lily Color Stick for added definition.

I’m also committed to maintaining my healthy habits: 10k steps, 7+ hours of sleep, hitting my nutrition goals, and always making space for fun.

Being Present

Slowing down, quiet mornings, and family nesting at home are essential for me. I love the feeling of permission to simply be and not rush. No guilt, no pressure — just presence.

There is something grounding about moving between who I am during the year and who I become during this season.

On Screens & Pages

One Minute Manager is an unforgettable inspiration. Watching kids’ movies with my grandchildren and playing games with them brings me the most joy. I am a big kid when I am with them.

Food & Gathering

I love home-cooked dinners for Shabbat and cozy lunches. Vegetable soups, chicken soup, and diving into new recipes feel comforting and nourishing. Hosting without over-complicating things is important — warmth matters more than perfection. I’m drawn to fresh, clean food, spots with great energy, and places that bring joy but still feel effortless. I love nostalgic foods tied to childhood — simple baked goods, soups, and grounding meals that reconnect me to tradition.

In My Makeup Bag

Hydrating products are essential for me, especially with travel between Toronto and Miami. I love products that deliver glow, like Gee Beauty Oil, Duo Cleanse + Buff, and Energizing Eye Cream.

I also love brow heroes — a brow lift and tint makes me feel put together even when I wake up. Prime Skin & Liquid Glow are must-haves for a polished look that never feels overdone.
