A Few Summer Days in Muskoka

This July marked our third Gee Beauty x 6 by Gee Beauty summer pop-up in Muskoka, and every visit reminds us why we love it so much. Spending a few days in cottage country, reconnecting with our Toronto clients, meeting new faces, and bringing a little bit of Gee Beauty and 6 by Gee Beauty to Port Carling has become one of our favourite summer traditions. Here's a little look at a typical day.

Morning

Michelle and I stayed at The Dudley Inn in Bala, which has become our home away from home. We would wake up around 7:00 a.m., make coffee in our room, do our skincare together, and get ready for the day.

Before work, we'd stop at Stella & Jack's for coffee and one of their incredible breakfast sandwiches. We never leave without browsing their beautiful home goods, either—it's one of our favourite spots to start the morning.

At the Pop-Up

By 10:00 a.m. we'd arrive at Mala Boutique in Port Carling and jump right into appointments. One of the best parts of the pop-up is seeing so many of our Toronto clients while they're spending the summer in Muskoka, along with meeting local cottagers discovering Gee Beauty for the first time.

I spent my days shaping brows, applying lashes, touching up makeup, and helping clients build simple routines for healthy, glowing summer skin. Michelle created beautiful ear piercings and jewelry styling, making every appointment feel personal and fun.

For lunch, we'd usually pick up sandwiches from La Focaccia or grab a smoothie from The Hut. Before heading north, we always do a big Summerhill Market shop in Toronto, so we have plenty of snacks to keep us going throughout the day.

And this trip we discovered a new favourite: an iced vanilla latte from Salted Sundae, which quickly became our afternoon ritual.

Evening

After work we'd head back to The Dudley to freshen up before dinner. Most nights we found ourselves at Pearl Muskoka, one of our favourite restaurants in the area. One evening, though, we stayed in and put together the perfect girl dinner—cheese, vegetables, hummus, chips, and whatever snacks we had picked up along the way.

Night

One of my favourite parts of every trip is winding down together at the end of the day. We'd take off our makeup, do our full skincare routines, laugh about the day, watch TikToks, and plan our content for tomorrow.

Our nighttime routine has become a ritual. We double cleanse with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, tone, apply SkinCeuticals P-TIOX Serum followed by P-TIOX Cream, finish with our new Gee Skin Ultra Firming Neck + Chest Cream, and never forget our Energizing Eye Cream before bed.

It's such a simple part of the day, but it's one of my favourites.

Why We Love It

There's something really special about Muskoka in the summer. We love slowing down, spending quality time with our clients in a more intimate setting, working alongside Mala Boutique, and creating a few days that feel equal parts work and summer escape.
