This year for me, Father's Day is a wonderful beginning to Wedding Day.
As Stephanie's wedding comes closer and closer, I'm reflecting on the Father of the Bride speech I'll be making soon, always a somewhat daunting task.
It allows an opportunity for reflection to look back on the journey Stephanie has made to get to this point, and her choice of Julien as her life's mate. I cannot help being so proud of her and my entire Gee family for what they've accomplished both personally and professionally. They are a constant reminder to me of how to always be improving yourself, always be learning and sharing your gifts with others.
In today's blog, I'm thrilled to be sharing all of the ways I'm preparing to accompany Steph down the aisle!
Skin Prep:
Being part of the Gee Family means I've always been involved in and around women that know a thing or two about taking care of your skin. Men tend to take skincare as a rather less important issue, partly because of our daily shaving routine (for most men anyway), which seems to be the precedent for that ritual. But, being a Gee, I've certainly learnt the importance of overall skincare and have seen what works especially-for me.
It starts off with regular facials from the Gee team. Not only is it highly relaxing, but it's a deep dive and an in-depth evaluation of your skin and the issues you need to address. The Gee team has seen it all, on a multitude of skin types so I'm always in very good hands. My personal preference is a facial with products from the Dr. Sebagh range - from my esthetician at Gee Beauty or for home use.
My daily skincare routine with Dr. Sebagh is to mix the Supreme Day Cream with Supreme Maintenance and Vitamin C Powder. I put this mixture over my face, neck and head - which needs it as much as my face!
These products not only feel great when applying them, they have really helped relieve dryness and dull skin. Before bed, I often use Rose de Vie Serum along with the Rose de Vie Hydrating Mask as a way of giving my skin an overnight boost.
For evenings out, when at an event or any special occasion, I always apply Prime Skin 4 after my shower. Natalie showed me how to apply with the Prime Skin Brush - One or two pumps onto the back of my hand then apply with the brush in dabs and then blend - head and face until evenly blended all over. It's amazing how natural it feels and I don't even notice it, but others always compliment the way I look which is always flattering.

Father's Day With Alan GeePhysical Prep:
With Steph's wedding coming up and the overall rhythm of a busy life I, like everyone, needs to de-stress.
My most favorite is my love of golf. I started playing as a teenager and it's one of those activities that you can play at any age and any skill level. Being out in the fresh open air along with your buddies is a true luxury and blissful enjoyment. The thrill of a 'birdy' caps off a highly enjoyable round whatever you end up scoring!
Wedding-Ready Style:
Coming from the UK and having a family that was in the fashion manufacturing business, I learnt about style early on. In fact when I was at art school I dabbled in designing a sweater collection as well as jewellery design. As a teenager I often spent summer holidays in our family's clothing factory helping out in all areas. It taught me how cut, fabric and construction came together to create the perfect garment.
That love never left me and so I've always had an eye for well-made clothing - regardless of price.

For Steph's upcoming wedding, I wanted to find the ideal suit that was smart, sophisticated, but with a relaxed elegance that felt highly personalized and went with my own particular style. I've always been a lover of the italian style of menswear. The relaxed cut of a suit with minimal padding, relaxed shoulder and great cut.
From luxury brands like Cucinelli to LBM (favourite of mine) to affordable brands like Massimo Dutti, (part of the Zara empire). For this occasion however I discovered a brand called Suit Supply - a rather odd name for a spectacular brand originally hailing from Amsterdam. Beautiful Italian fabrics constructed the old Italian way. Each suit I tried on fitted like a glove. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I ended up buying two suits and lots of accessories. (their prices make it easy to do!)
As Father's Day is approaching and Steph's wedding quickly follows, it's a very exciting and emotional time for our family.
They say, what you give, comes back to you, and in this case I am truly humbled to see how much my daughters have accomplished. And I'll be swelling with pride as Miriam and I accompany our daughter down the aisle.
