How To: Lymphatic Drainage At Home

Lymphatic Drainage is one of the buzziest treatments these days, but to us it isn't a fad.

It's a much-respected wellness practice that's the ultimate secret to de-puffing, detoxifying, and sculpting the lymphatic system for a contoured finish.
Read on to learn more from our experts and how to achieve almost-professional results at home.

Meet our experts:

LISA GARCIA - Gee Beauty Miami's Licensed Massage Therapist, Medical Aesthetician and Certified MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) Therapist

LAIS MELLO - Gee Beauty Toronto's Registered Massage Therapist

What exactly is Lymphatic Drainage?

Lymphatic Drainage (also known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage, MLD) is a massage technique that encourages the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of lymph fluids around the body. Your lymph nodes are located in your neck, underarms, chest, abdomen, and groin. During the treatment, lymphatic vessels are stimulated by a slight stretching motion on the skin in the direction of the collecting lymph nodes.

Lymph vessels make an intimate meshwork that covers every inch of your skin and surrounds each organ in great detail.

Achieve almost-professional results at home:

Can't make it in for a treatment? We've got you covered with just a few simple and relaxing techniques + product recommendations from De La Heart to achieve a lifted, fresh + sculpted glow — all from the comfort of home!

Step 1 - Dry Brushing

To boost circulation, exfoliate and slough off dead skin, dry brushing is the key. It takes less than 5 minutes and it energizes + revitalizes the skin. Using light pressure, gently brush upwards from the feet toward the heart.

Our go-to: THE BODY BRUSH - best for exfoliating and stimulating the body's natural detox flow.

Step 2 - Apply body oil

To prep the skin before you start your lymphatic drainage routine, apply a lightweight + hydrating body oil to help your tools glide smoothly while delivering deep nourishment.

our go-to: FLOW + GLOW BODY OIL - best for an effortless glide and supporting the natural detox flow with a custom blend of traditional plant-based oils.

Step 3 - Incorporate tools

Choosing the right lymphatic drainage tools is what will truly take your ritual to the next level and give you the results you're after.

our go-to for face: STAINLESS STEEL GUA SHA - best for de-puffing, smoothing and sculpting.
our go-to for body: THE BODY TOOL - best for increasing circulation, reducing appearance of cellulite and releasing toxins.

The technique combines gentle, rhythmic movements with precise pressure to achieve visible results, such as body contouring and a reduction in fluid retention.

If you have the tools and are using them every night before bed, you're teaching your body to work in a more organized way.
