7 Tips For Endless Creativity

7 Tips For Endless Creativity

Streamlined creativity is where true inspiration lies.

Whether it’s moodboards, saved posts, your photo albums or tear sheets, keeping your inspirations organized is the key to actually using them and staying creative.

Today on the #GeeEdit, we're sharing our favorite ways to collect, organize, and actually use what we save.

Lean into print:

There's something about physically flipping through a magazine that feels more immersive from the texture of the glossy pages and the feel of them in your hand. Print magazines are also incredible collection pieces and make beautiful centrepieces on coffee tables to revisit time and time again.

Some of our favorite magazines are:
- Vogue Italia
- Architectural Digest
- Vogue Living

As a former editor, there is nothing like the inspiration I get from a print magazine. It's so special to me. I'm known for making my own tear sheets and adding them to my own collage boards.

Coffee table books:

Similar to print magazines, we've always had a deep love for a good coffee table book. Whether you feel more drawn to interior design, food, photography, cars or anything in between, there's bound to be a coffee table book that suits your interests and sparks your inspiration and creativity.

I love coordinating my coffee table books and moving them around every so often for a burst of fresh inspiration.

Categorize your IG saves:

If your saved folder on Instagram is overflowing with inspiration, it's time to start categorizing. Not only is it incredibly satisfying to take the time to organize, but it makes it so much easier to actually find what you're looking for when the time comes.

Of course you can decide how to categorize your saved posts but some theme suggestions are: beauty trends, travel inspo, recipes to try, workout/wellness, style, and self-love.

How to Create a Collection:
1. Go to your profile and tap the menu (☰) in the top right.
2. Tap Saved – this shows all your saved posts.
3. Tap the + icon (New Collection), name it, and start adding posts!

Categorizing my saved folder has been a huge gamechanger. I've been recommending it to everyone!

- @eyeswoon
- @flamingoestate
- @thankuandiloveyou
- @sunday.scaries
- @bonbon_chic

Get back into Pinterest:

Popular among wedding planners and DIY home decor enthusiasts, Pinterest is a treasure trove for discovering every type of inspiration you could ever want. Once you've started saving and creating your boards, the intuitive algorithm will get to know your style and curates a personalized feed filled with posts and ideas which means never-ending inspiration.

Pinterest is my new go-to for constant inspiration. I started searching for sea shell decor ideas and soon enough, it was what I was seeing everywhere.

Organize your camera roll:

If you often save inspirations directly to your phone’s camera roll, consider organizing them into dedicated albums—just like Instagram Saves. Setting aside a few minutes each week to sort and categorize your photos can help keep your inspirations easily accessible and well-organized. Plus you can reflect on what inspirations you want to dig deeper into.

Categorizing my camera roll and creating albums is my trick to knowing where certain photos are at the exact moment I'm looking for them.

Refresh your favorites folder:

Prefer to keep your inspirations in your favorites folder? It's all about finding what methods work for you. While there's no option to categorize this folder, by regularly reviewing its contents, you'll stay intentional about what you collect and by revisiting it often, you create a personal archive that continues to fuel your creativity.

I love using my favorites folder. Mine is a mix of kids, fashion, and makeup of course!

Moodboards:

It’s no secret how much we love a beautifully curated moodboard. There’s something truly grounding about the process—gathering inspiring images, arranging them with intention, and watching a vision come to life. The act of layering textures, colors, and ideas sparks creativity in the most satisfying way, transforming scattered inspiration into a cohesive story. Whether it’s a digital collage, a visionboard, or a tactile cut-and-paste creation, a well-crafted moodboard becomes a go-to source of inspiration — one we’ll revisit time and time again to reignite that creative spark.
